Peace restored in rural Balochistan, Says Malik

QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday claimed that peace had been established in Balochistan province’s rural areas and that “terrorists” were now headed towards Quetta, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives here, Mr Malik said terrorists were also targeting women and children, however, authorities were acting against them in full force.

At least 43 dead in Zanzibar ferry capsize : Zanzibar Incident

ZANZIBAR INews Pakistan Reported : At least 43 people died when a ferry capsized off Zanzibar, but 259 have people have so far been rescued, a minister in the semi-autonomous archipelago said Saturday.
No foreigners have so far been reported amongst either the dead or rescued, according to a reporter at the scene.
“So far we have recovered 43 people who died, but we have rescued 259 survivors,” said Mohammed Aboud, Zanzibar’s state minister for emergencies, adding that 40 of those rescued were seriously injured.

US sanctions for three Al Qaeda leaders present in Pakistan
