Reduction in Transport problems Notification Issues
Pakistan / Karachi News > Sindh Transport Department on Friday issued the notification under Provincial Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965 announcing new reduced fares for public transport in Sindh.
According to notification, fares of intercity buses covering 5-kilometers distance run on diesel and CNG has been reduced from Rs 13 to Rs.10 while those covering 10-km or 15-km will charge the same fare of Rs 15 and Rs.16, respectively. Students will be charged 50% of the normal fare.
The fares of minibuses covering 5-km run on CNG has been reduced to Rs 10 from Rs.14 previous. While the fares of coaches covering 10-km and 30-km has been reduced to Rs. 17 and Rs 18, from Rs. 19 and Rs. 20, respectively.
No changes has been made in fares of air conditioned coaches run on High Speed Diesel (HSD) and it will charge same Rs 1.6 per KMs while those running on CNG will charge Rs 1.28 per KMs with reduction of 20%.
Similarly, non-air conditioned buses run on HSD will also have no change in fares while 76 paisa per KMs will be charged on those running on CNG with 20% reduction. (PPI)
