Malik Statement Action will be taken against land grabbers

KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik on Sunday said that the land mafia has grabbed more than 40 thousands acres of land in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to the media about Karachi after meeting with the members of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD),
Malik said that a complain cell will be established in the ABAD office to tackle builders’ complaints against land grabbers. He said that action will be taken against the police stations where the police have been ignoring complaints against the land mafia.
He requested the builders to put an application against land grabbers within four days and said that the government will take the action against land and extortion mafia just as it has against target killers.
Malik also announced a cash award of Rs. 50,000 for Sub-Inspector Munir who arrested a target killer named Shehroz.
Speaking about a Wikileaks cable, Malik said that the US never demanded access to the NADRA database, however, a few Muslim states had want to share the data but they had been refused.
