Gilani’s son in hospital due to dengue symptoms : Pakistani News

LAHORE INews Pakistan Reported : The dengue virus which has gripped the provincial capital continues to take its toll and its fresh ‘victim’ is said to be the son of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The prime minister’s 30-year-old son, Abdul Qadir Gilani, was admitted to the Akram Medical Complex on the Jail Road on Sunday with dengue fever symptoms.
Prof (Dr) Javed Akram, who owns the hospital, told Dawn that Mr Gilani had high fever and initial clinical investigations suggested he was suffering from dengue. He said that more samples of the patient’s blood had been sent to laboratory.
Dr Akram said that parents of a senior army officer were also under treatment in the hospital for the disease. The condition of all three patients is stable.

He said the prime minister’s son had frequently gone to Multan from Lahore and he might have caught virus either during travel or at his residence in the Defence Housing Authority, one of the localities vulnerable to the disease.

He said the ugly face of dengue was not sparing anybody as people belonging to all social classes, including judges, lawyers, doctors, bureaucrats, senior army and government officials, had been affected by the virus this season.
He said it was the peak season of the disease.

MNA Sheikh Rohail Asghar of the PML-N was also tested positive for the dengue virus on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Punjab health department said 67 more dengue cases were reported in the provincial capital on Sunday.Of them 29 were diagnosed at the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, 15 at Surgimed Hospital, 14 at the Institute of Public Health and eight at Services Hospital.
